Liga MX gives Atlas two-match stadium ban after violence

The Guadalajara outfit continues to feel the repercussions of bad fan behavior at Sunday's quarterfinal.

Liga MX announced sanctions put in place on Atlas after its fans invaded the pitch, clashed with security forces and caused a long delay in Sunday's 4-1 defeat to Chivas at Estadio Jalisco.

"The Disciplinary Commission informs the action taken after the open investiagtion with respect to the inicdents that took place during second leg of the Liga MX Clausura quarterfinals, between Atlas and Guadalajara, which took place Sunday, May 17 in Estadio Jalisco," the governing body's statement read. "In extraordinary session, the Disciplinary Commision decided to sanction Club Atlas with a fine of 7,000 days of minimum salary in use in Mexico City and a stadium ban for two matches.
