Las Palmas rule out signing Riqui Puig from Barcelona

Las Palmas president Miguel Angel Ramirez has ruled out trying to sign Riqui Puig from Barcelona in the January transfer window.

There have been rumors that several clubs are interested in taking the 20-year-old on loan for the rest of the season but he won’t be heading to the Canary Islands.

Ramirez told a press conference on Thursday that his club are searching for a replacement for Jonathan Viera, who will return to China in January, but “have not asked” about Puig.

Real Zaragoza are the latest club to be linked with a move for Puig, while sporting director Patrick Kluivert has said this week a loan would be the best thing for the youngster.
