Barcelona are hoping to announce a new long-term contract for Lamine Yamal this summer, with president Joan Laporta having already admitted it’s not quite done yet.
The president has also claimed “we have to give him special treatment” and that Yamal’s salary “has to be in line with his performances, not his age.”
According to Cope’s Victor Navarro, Yamal’s agents have “asked him to be the highest paid on the staff” and say he deserves to be the club’s top earner.
The argument is that he’s the best because he creates the most, offers something different and is the most “sought after for interviews.
