La Liga president Javier Tebas has given a new interview where he’s been asked about Barcelona’s failure to land Nico Williams this summer.
Tebas has been accused of meddling in the transfer - by sharing confidential information with Athletic - in a move which led to Williams’ agent asking for a registration guarantee.
Barcelona refused his request which is believed to be the reason why the deal broke down.
Here’s what Tebas has had to say about the saga:
“What I’ve been able to read is that Nico Williams was asking for a registration guarantee, I don’t know what conditions, but that a football club like Barcelona wasn’t willing to give that guarantee,” he told ESPN.
