PARIS, June 12 (Reuters) - Interpol said on Friday it was suspending the use of funds it gets from FIFA for its 'Integrity in Sport' programme in light of ongoing investigations into corruption against world soccer's governing body.
The international police body won 20 million euros ($22.4 million) from FIFA under a 2011 deal to create a 10-year programme to tackle match-rigging and illegal gambling - its biggest single contribution from any private partner.
"All external partners, whether public or private, must share the fundamental values and principles of the organization, as well as those of the wider law enforcement community," said Juergen Stock, Interpol's secretary general.
