Iceland's win over England was one of the biggest shocks international football has seen. Nick Ames looks at 10 of the biggest shocks.

1. USA 1-0 England (1950)

Indisputably the lowest point in England's history until Monday's defeat in Nice, this result caused such surprise back home that, when newspapers were printed the next day, some presumed they had mistyped a 10-0 or 10-1 victory in England's favour. The harsh truth was that Joe Gaetjens' header condemned them to defeat in the World Cup first round.

2. North Korea 1-0 Italy (1966)

In a World Cup group containing Chile, the USSR and Italy, North Korea's first two performances, in which they lost 3-0 to the Soviets and drew 1-1 with the Chileans, gave Italy little cause for alarm.
