Hearts of Oak handed Ghana Premier League crown after losing last fixture against Wafa

The Phobians were coronated as champions of the elite domestic league after their clash with the Academy Boys

Hearts of Oak received their Ghana Premier League trophy on Saturday, having been already confirmed league winners following a 1-1 draw with Liberty Professionals last week.

In their final match of the 34-week season, the Phobians suffered a 1-0 away loss to Wafa, but the result did no harm to their status.

It is their 20th GPL title in history, three less wins than archrivals Asante Kotoko who are the most successful club ever in the elite domestic championship.
