Hannover 96 have condemned the racism incident aimed at Mainz 05 duo Leon Balogun and Anthony Ujah in a German top-flight game.
Balogun took to social media to reveal that him and his compatriot were racially insulted while in a warm up session as the Zerofivers bowed to a 3-2 defeat against Hannover 96 on Saturday.
In reaction to the defender’s claims on Sunday, the Reds joined the football world to rebuke the awful incident that occurred in the second half of the encounter.
"So true, there is no question that we distance ourselves strictly, clearly and in the strongest terms from this behavior!
