Galatasaray sets Liverpool ultimatum over Lucas Leiva

The 29-year-old was on the verge of an Istanbul switch, but the Reds are now rethinking the move - and his prospective new club want a speedy resolution

Galatasaray has given Liverpool until Monday to make a decision over whether the club is willing to sell Lucas Leiva.

The Istanbul giants are keen to lure the Brazilian midfielder away from Anfield and seemed close to signing the 29-year-old after agreeing terms with the Premier League side.

However, Liverpool is now having second thoughts and has delayed a final decision over Lucas' future at the club.

Galatasaray has no intention of waiting any longer, though, and is ready to turn its attention elsewhere if Liverpool does not make a decision over the next few days.
