Galatasaray banned from UEFA competitions for one season

The Istanbul club will not be able to qualify for either the Champions League or the Europa League this season due to a failure to comply with financial regulations.

Galatasaray has been banned from UEFA competitions for one season, after failing to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

The ban will come into force the first time the that the Istanbul club qualifies for either the Champions League or the Europa League within the next two seasons, though the sanction will be waived if Galatasaray fails to qualify for continental competition in that time frame.
