FSF defends England fans over Marseille violence

Three Lions supporters were not to blame for the troubling and harrowing scenes of hooliganism in Marseille, according to a Football Supporters' Federation statement

The Football Supporters' Federation (FSF) has insisted England fans were not to blame for the violence in Marseille and has urged French police to act more effectively at Euro 2016.

Followers of the Three Lions were involved in serious disturbances in the historic port city ahead of England's 1-1 draw with Russia at the Stade Velodrome on Saturday, when more trouble took place in the stands after the final whistle.

Both teams have been threatened with expulsion from the tournament by UEFA if further violence occurs.
