Francisco Palencia becomes first coach for Mazatlan FC

Mazatlan FC announced that Juan Francisco Palencia will become the first head coach of the team. The team which days ago was Monarcas Morelia did not have an agreement with ex-coach Pablo Guede and thus needed a new coach. The ex-player had coached before with Pumas, where he had played before and was part of their last Liga MX title, and Lobos BUAP. Palencia will have a team where many players might leave as the team goes through changes because of the relocation and the need to start in a different city. He’ll also need to navigate the club through a lot of animosity from other fans who didn’t take kindly to the disappearance of an historic team.
