Former Aston Villa Defender Jlloyd Samuel Dies at Age 37

Former Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers defender Jlloyd Samuel has died in a car crash aged 37.

The Trinidad & Tobago Football Association confirmed the news in a Facebook post on Tuesday, providing further details:

Samuel spent nine years at Villa Park, making 169 appearances for the Midlands club. After leaving in 2001, he went on to enjoy a four-year stint at Bolton before spending the latter years of his career playing in Iran. Most recently, he was player-manager of non-league side Egerton, based in Cheshire.
