Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez has issued a challenge to FC Barcelona after being asked about the possibility of having a Clásico as the final to the UEFA Champions League.
“If we face Barça in the final,” Pérez said in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, “I will remember that this year we have already beaten them twice by winning the European Supercup: 3-1 there and 2-0 here.”
Pérez was referencing two matches from way back in August of 2017. Although he’s got it wrong, it was not the European Supercup, but rather the Spanish Supercup.
