With the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup around the corner, both Liga MX teams will come in with new coaches. Monterrey and Pachuca will have to go to the tournament with new coaches after a firing and a possible resignation. While Monterrey has officially named their new coach, Pachuca is in talks and haven’t officially parted ways with their coach Guillermo Almada.
Monterrey’s tenure with Coach Martin Demichelis was always inconsistent but the Clausura 2025 was riddled with turmoil. With one of the most expensive squad in Liga MX, Monterrey’s result didn’t meet expectations. The first big event to really cause waves with Demichelis was when Monterrey was eliminated in the CONCACAF Champions Cup by the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Semifinals.
