Atletico Madrid forward Fernando Torres had to be taken off the pitch on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace after suffering a head injury during Thursday's match against Deportivo, according to Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC.
Torres clashed heads with another player on the pitch, per Corrigan, before hitting his head again on the ground after the fall.
Sport English reported that Torres appeared to be unconscious on the pitch at one point, while Corrigan added that he was immediately taken to a hospital.
