FC Barcelona’s technical secretary, Éric Abidal, has met personally with Matthijs de Ligt and has spoken directly with Frenkie De Jong, to try to convince them to join the Catalans next summer, according to TV3.
The Ajax pair have been heavily linked with a switch to a big team this coming summer, with Barcelona frequently mentioned as a possible destination.
According to Diario SPORT, De Ligt is Barcelona’s priority for next season, even ahead of De Jong. Barça are supposedly making their final push to get the 19-year-old to commit to playing for them.
