Following their disastrous Copa America Centenario exit, the Mexico national team return to the fields on Friday when they visit the Estadio Cuscatlán to take on El Salvador in their fifth game of World Cup Qualifying.
El Tri are already qualified to the final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, but in a sense, this is a game where Mexico need to perform. Patience is running thin after Mexico’s nightmare game against Chile, and Juan Carlos Osorio and Co. can’t afford a negative performance against La Selecta.
While El Salvador are perennial underachievers in the region, things won’t be as easy as they sound for Mexico.
