Egypt v Tanzania Match Report, 13/06/2019

Egypt secured a slim 1-0 victory over Tanzania in an international friendly encounter on Thursday.

Having failed to secure victory in their last two games, against Niger and Nigeria, drawing 1-1 with the Menas and losing 1-0 to the Super Eagles, the Pharaohs halted their poor form against Emmanuel Amuneke’s men, thanks to a second-half strike from Aston Villa midfielder Ahmed El Mohamady.

After both sides failed to open each other’s defence in the first half, Javier Aguirre quickly introduced the trio of Mahmoud Abdelrahim, Ahmed Hassan Koka and Ali Ghazal for Ahmed El Shenawy, Ayman Ashraf and Tarek Hamed respectively in the 46th minute in an effort to turn things around for his side.
