Diego Lainez to lead team for the Central American and Caribbean Games

Diego Lainez has been called up to lead Mexico as they hope to repeat the Gold Medal they got in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean games. Lainez leads the Under-21 team that is preparing itself for the Olympic games. In 2014, Mexico won the Gold Medal in the games played in Veracruz, after defeating Venezuela in the final by a score of 4-1. This was the first gold medal since the 1990 games, also played in Mexico, although it has to be said that CONCACAF boycotted the 2010 games in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.

Most of the team is composed of players that played in the Toulon Tournament and made it to the final, without those expected to get plenty of minutes with their club.
