However, the 27-year-old could see his career in tatters later this week.
That is because he is to appear in court, charged with biting a police officer in his home country and could face up to eight years in prison if found guilty.
Nielsen was arrested for kicking a parking meter in April while still on the books of Norwegian club Rosenborg. He was put in a police van, where it was claimed the 27-year-old had to be subdued with pepper spray, before allegedly biting the arresting officer.
Nielsen will appear in court in the Danish capital of Copenhagen on Thursday.
