Danish man sentenced in 2010 football match-fixing case (The Associated Press)

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) -- A Danish man was given a one-year suspended sentence on Tuesday for fixing two matches in Denmark's second-tier football league nearly five years ago.

The 28-year-old man, who cannot be named under a court order, was found guilty in a match-fixing scheme involving an unnamed Filipino organization.

The man appealed the ruling that was the first match-fixing trial in Denmark.

He gave the Filipino organization information about first-division games involving Hvidovre in November 2010, a 4-2 loss to Hjorring, and 5-0 loss to Vejle.

Another man who was a suspect in the same case was acquitted.
