'Cultural cringe'- Bosnich slams Australian playing habit

The former Socceroo is sick of Australian teams attempting to play out from the back

After seeing Melbourne Victory concede in the Asian Champions League following a poor give away in their own half, Mark Bosnich has hit out an Australian habit to play out from the back.

Despite a strong start against Guangzhou Evergrande on Tuesday night, Victory found themselves behind in the 24th minute after Lawrence Thomas opted to distribute the ball to his defender which allowed Guangzhou to turn over possession and grab the opening goal through Huang Bowen.

While Victory would equalise shortly after via Jai Ingham, Victory's failed attempt to play out from the back left Bosnich fuming at half-time as he slammed what he believes is a systemic problem in Australian football.
