Copa chaos another nail in coffin for Madrid's 'gentlemanly club' image

Once a source of pride for much of Spain, Real's recent behavior has seen it become a laughing stock while, along the way, also losing much credibility and respect.

Real Madrid used to be known as a gentlemanly club. Long before Barcelona preached valors (values), Los Blancos boasted an almost stately image. Señorío. They flew the flag for Spain - and most Spaniards were proud to have it that way.

The only pure thing about Madrid these days, however, is the white of its shirts. And the latest debacle in the Copa del Rey is another nail in the coffin for their so-called seignorial image.
