The recent 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season saw several defenders rise and produce a series of good displays.
Bidvest Wits full-back Sifiso Hlanti, Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize and Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back Ricardo Nascimento have all been nominated for the PSL Defender of the Season award.
A few players were unfairly overlooked for the accolade which recognises the best defender in the top-flight league.
