Clásico Tapatío friendly cut short due to safety precautions

The Clásico Tapatío came to Los Angeles as Guadalajara and Atlas played a friendly early Sunday evening in front of an electric sold out crowd at BMO stadium. While the atmosphere was electric, the same could not be said for either team as the game ended in a scoreless draw. While there were moments of brilliance from both sides, neither could capitalize and the game was called at the 90th minute due to the safety of the players as fans threw debris and flares onto the field twice in the last quarter of the game, which caused the match to be paused twice.
