Chelsea submits planning application for new stadium

The Blues are looking create a new West London home in the same grounds as well as make improvements on the stadium as a whole, increasing the quality of supporter experience.

Chelsea has submitted plans to build a new 60,000-seat stadium at Stamford Bridge to the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham council.

The new stadium would see the capacity expand from 41,000 and intends to offer spectators "an outstanding view of the stadium from every seat."

The club is aiming to improve the standard of facilities with the new build and offer a greater experience for spectators, though, if the plans are accepted, the building work will impact on the local area as the club are aiming to improve access to Fulham Broadway station.
