One of the standout performers for the Mexico national team throughout the World Cup has been Carlos Salcedo. Now the Eintracht Frankfurt center back is considering retiring from International Football.
“I honestly don’t know.” Salcedo said after the game. “I am devastated. I don’t know if I will take a decision or not, but I have a lot to think about.”
Understandably, Salcedo may just be expressing himself at the heat of moment, but for a player in Europe, national team duties can be exhausting, considering most of Mexico’s games take place in the United States.
