The American captain and goalkeeper both were recognized for individual honors after winning the Women's World Cup.
United States midfielder Carli Lloyd helped her team to its first World Cup win since 1999 but will also take home some individual hardware.
After scoring a hat trick in a 5-2 win in the final, Lloyd was awarded the Golden Ball, given to the best player during the World Cup. She narrowly missed out on the Golden Boot, taking home the Silver Boot by virtue of losing a tiebreaker to Celia Sasic. The German attacker, like Lloyd, had six goals but played fewer minutes.
