Carles Aleñá Called Up For Barcelona vs Alavés

Luis Enrique has chosen to call up youngster Carles Aleñá from Barça B to make up the numbers for Barcelona’s La Liga match against Alavés on Saturday. Javier Mascherano and Rafinha are injured, while Jordi Masip has been left out because the team only needs two keepers. In addition, Gerard Piqué and Arda Turan will be rested.

Fitness concerns loom large for Luis Enrique as the Blaugrana prepare for their UEFA Champions League Round of 32 match against Paris Saint-Germain. The game is next Tuesday, in Paris, just three days after the team faces Alavés, and Enrique wants his team to be fresh for the first European trip of 2017, which gave a chance for Aleñá to be back with the group.
