Rise and Shine ended the Citizens hopes of defending their MTN8 title when they clinched a comfortable win on Saturday afternoon
The MTN8 took centre stage on Saturday when the defending champions, Cape Town City welcomed Polokwane City in the first quarter-final match of the 2019/20 season.
Although the encounter was initially earmarked for the iconic Cape Town Stadium, the match was moved to Newlands Stadium.
Coach Benni McCarthy led his side on their quest to retain the trophy whilst Zlatko Krmpotic was looking to collect his first trophy in the South African top-flight.
