Morgan Brian doesn't want to see Lauren Holiday leave the U.S. national team, but she is ready to help fill the retiring midfielder's shoes.
GAITHERSBURG, Md. — When it comes to Lauren Holiday's retirement, Morgan Brian still finds herself firmly planted in the "denial" stage of grief.
"Every time I see her, I try to talk her out of it," Brian told Goal USA. "It doesn’t work very well, though."
Holiday, 27, has made plans to step away from soccer once the current NWSL season wraps up and the U.S. national team completes its 10-match Women's World Cup victory tour.
