Belgium’s World Cup Is Over; Morocco and Croatia Advance

Follow the scenarios, live: Croatia | Morocco | Belgium

This generation of Belgian talent, feared and formidable for so long, is nearing an ignominious departure from the World Cup unless it can summon a victory in the second half. Absent a sustained attack, Belgium scattered chances at sporadic intervals, with none, really, scaring Croatia.

The scoreless tie seems a just result so far, though Belgium is bound to make some substitutions after halftime to enhance its attacking power. Because as it stands, the Belgians cannot advance from Group F without beating Croatia, and they will not beat Croatia unless they score a goal.
