Barcelona’s La Liga clash at Sevilla postponed

Barcelona’s La Liga trip to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium to take on Sevilla on Saturday has officially been postponed by the High Council for Sports (CSD).

La Liga has asked for the game, and Villarreal vs Alaves, to be rearranged because of a clash with CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying fixtures.

The last fixtures of the South American World Cup qualifiers in the international break will take place in the early hours of Friday European time, meaning La Liga players would not be able to play this weekend.

Barcelona’s Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo was one player who would miss the match along with Sevilla’s Argentine trio Gonzalo Montiel, Papu Gómez and Marcos Acuña.
