FC Barcelona sporting director Deco has one name at the top of the list in the search for a new defensive midfielder: Douglas Luiz.
The decision has not fully been made but reports say the Brazilian is at the moment the #1 target. Having bought Oriol Romeu as a stopgap solution to the exit of Sergio Busquets, to middling at best results to this point, Barcelona do not want to repeat that experiment. They want a player who’s ready to go and be a starter for some time.
Douglas Luiz, who is 25, is having a great season for Aston Villa and has many of the things the blaugrana are looking for.
