Barcelona playing Girona in the United States has moved a significant step closer after La Liga confirmed they have sent a letter to the RFEF asking for authorisation to play the match at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
Girona have previously admitted they have been working on a proposal to play the game, scheduled for January 26 in the US, and it now looks like it really might happen.
“FC Barcelona, Girona FC and LaLiga have requested permission from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to stage the matchday 21 fixture between Girona and Barcelona, scheduled to be played on 26 January, at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium in a 20:45 CET kick-off.
