Barcelona could decline and become “the new AC Milan,” warns presidential candidate

An already-old team gets a bit older if Barcelona’s proposed swap with Juventus goes through. Reports say the Catalans will swap 23-year-old Arthur for 30-year-old Miralem Pjaniu0107, in a team that had a starting XI with an average age of 29.9 in a 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao recently - and that was with Arthur.

Victor Font, who has announced his candidacy for the Catalans’ club is worried that recent dealings made by the current board will result in a decline similar to that experienced by AC Milan.

Milan is one of the world’s most storied clubs, but it declined heavily after winning the UEFA Champions League in 2007.
