Barcelona add Jordi Cruyff to Joan Laporta’s team

Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that Jordi Cruyff is set to return the club later this summer in a “strategic role.”

Cruyff has left his position as head coach of Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC to return to the Camp Nou and work with new president Joan Laporta.

Here’s Barca’s official statement:

“FC Barcelona announces that Jordi Cruyff will join the football area of the club and form part of the new organisational structure as of August 1. Jordi Cruyff, who was a player in Barça’s youth teams and in the Barça first team from 1993 to 1996, returns in a strategic role.
