Atletico Madrid have released a statement condemning Barcelona's pursuit of Antoine Griezmann, suggesting the Blaugrana had spoken to Griezmann before they had permission to do so.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently suggested that the two sides had met for the first time on Thursday to try strike a deal, but Atletico have now claimed Bartomeu's statement is not the truth.
Atletico took to their official website to write: "On May 14, Antoine Griezmann informed Miguel Ángel Gil, Diego Pablo Simeone and Andrea Berta of his decision to leave our club at the end of the season.
