Thanks to a stoppage time goal, América were able to book their ticket to the semifinals as their dream of winning the title back-to-back remains alive. Pachuca had control of the game all night and were minutes away from advancing but they let their guard down which allowed the Aguilas to score. It may not have been their prettiest game, but the Aguilas did just enough to move on while Pachuca went home packing.
