America concerned about Rubens Sambueza's fitness for final

The midfielder was injured in Sunday's Clasico Nacional and may not be ready for Wednesday night's title decider.

Club America is worried about the fitness of star midfielder Rubens Sambueza ahead of Wednesday's CONCACAF Champions League final second leg against the Montreal Impact.

Sambueza was removed at halftime of the weekend's 1-1 draw with rival Chivas after suffering an injury in his right leg. Manager Gustavo Matosas named Sambueza to the traveling squad but isn't sure if he will have the 31-year-old available for the final.

"The doctors have done a lot of work with Rubens to try and get him recuperated, and [Tuesday] it would be premature to speak about it," Matosas told reporters in Montreal on Tuesday.
