The Concacaf Champions League draw was done last night in Miami, and the all of the clubs learned their fate in the Round of Sixteen, which is coming up in February 2019. The first legs will be played between February 19th and 21st, with the second legs to be played between February 26th and 28th.
Monterrey was drawn against Alianza FC from San Salvador, who were the champions of the Apertura 2017 and the Clausura 2018 in the Salvadoran league. Alianza have won the Primera División 13 times and been runners up another 10 times, making them the third most historically successful team in El Salvador.
