After Two Big Upsets, Canada Struggling to Make it Three

The second half of Canada-Croatia was a continuation of the first: Croatia’s midfield stifling Canada, and eventually producing a goal that seemed inevitable. Andrej Kramaric’s 70th minute goal, his second of the night, gives Croatia a 3-1 lead and all but buries Canada.

Canada made two changes at halftime and has already used up all five substitutes in an attempt to change the game’s momentum, but to no avail.

While it took Canada only two minutes to score the first goal in the match, after a brief burst of opening energy Croatia regrouped and repeatedly pressed the Canadians’ shaky defense.
