Cowie is currently an Undergraduate Assistant Coach at UNC. After tearing her ACL in 2012 during spring training, Cowie decided to retire from college soccer. Anson Dorrance, the head coach at UNC, brought her on as an assistant.

This retirement allowed Cowie to fully pursue a professional career in freestyle soccer. No longer limited by the NCAA, she has put on several clinics and started to build her brand "Individual."

Averbuch currently plays for the Washington Spirit in the National Women's Soccer League. She earned her first cap for the U.S. Women's National Team in 2007.

During her career at UNC, she won National Championships in 2006 and 2008. In 2006 and 2007, she earned NSCAA All-America first team status.
