UNIVERSITY PARK -- Nic Moore, Semi Ojeleye, Sterling Brown, Markus Kennedy, Ben Moore. All are names that became familiar in SMU households as the men's basketball team won two American Conference titles in three years.
Now, the quintet has joined the ranks of former Mustangs left to watch the team from a distance. Nic Moore plays in Italy. Ojeleye made his NBA debut Tuesday with the Celtics in a loss in Cleveland before travelling back to Boston to face Brown's Bucks Wednesday night. Kennedy and Ben Moore are in the G-League.
This all leaves SMU with a roster that has undergone a lot of turnover since the Mustangs' season-ending, NCAA tournament loss to USC, with only three players returning from the 2016-17 team.
