Tennessee head coach Butch Jones has been fired, Sports Illustrated's Bruce Feldman reported Sunday morning. The Volunteers are 4-6 this season and 0-6 in SEC play.
Now that Jones is gone, the question is who will replace him in Knoxville. One national analyst thinks it could be SMU's Chad Morris.
In October, USA Today's Dan Wolken evaluated the openings (and potential openings) at Nebraska, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Arkansas, coming with dream hires, sensible hires and entertainment value hires for each school. For Tennessee, Wolken sees Morris as the most sensible hire.
