Why SMU's Tim Jankovich is against proposed changes to NCAA transfer rules

UNIVERSITY PARK -- SMU is a program that has largely been built around transfers.

Five of the 11 current scholarship Mustangs started their careers at other schools. Nic Moore and Semi Ojeleye, who both won American Conference player of the year honors at SMU, first played ball at Illinois State and Duke, respectively.

So you'd think that a program like SMU would be in favor of a potential rule change floating around the NCAA that players would be able to transfer without sitting out a season, right?

Well, you'd be wrong.

"I don't think that that's a good thing," head coach Tim Jankovich says.
