UNIVERSITY PARK -- One of the biggest revelations of the first six games of SMU's season has been running back Ke'Mon Freeman. The true sophomore has rushed 69 times this season for 335 yards and seven touchdowns, using his size to become a bruiser at the line of scrimmage and a consistent red-zone threat.
Freeman is still relatively new to the position of running back, too. He played quarterback at Liberty-Eylau High School before committing to SMU as an athlete on National Signing Day in 2016. As a freshman at SMU, injuries forced Freeman to study as a quarterback again just to give SMU depth at the position.
