Why SMU head coach Sonny Dykes wanted to be a pilot when he was growing up

UNIVERSITY PARK -- When your father and brother are both college football coaches, it can be pretty easy for people to assume that's what you're going to be when you grow up, too.

That was the case for Sonny Dykes, who's father, Spike, was the head football coach at Texas Tech and brother, Rick, was the Red Raiders' running back coach. Eventually, Sonny did follow in their footsteps and now he's the head coach at SMU.

But he didn't always aspire to be a coach. When he was younger, Dykes says, he dreamt of being a pilot.
