With the announcement that Chad Morris had left SMU for Arkansas came a parallel one that associate head coach and running backs coach Jeff Traylor had been promoted to interim head coach in Morris' place.
For now, the plan is for Traylor to coach SMU in the Frisco Bowl on Dec. 20. He released a statement about that duty on Wednesday.
